Thermal diffusion coating is a zinc-based finishing process in which zinc is diffused into the surface of steel components at elevated temperature, forming a uniform zinc-iron alloy layer that becomes part of the component itself. Because the coating is formed rather than sprayed, it delivers even coverage on complex geometries — including threads, recesses and internal surfaces — with excellent corrosion and abrasion resistance, and provides an outstanding adhesion base for a powder coating or electrocoating topcoat. Thermal diffusion coating is available through our Michigan facilities.
- Uniform, sacrificial zinc-alloy protection — even on complex geometry
- Excellent corrosion and abrasion resistance
- Superior adhesion base for powder and e-coat topcoats
- Well suited to fasteners, stampings and hardware
